FOREST OF BIG FINGERS
Director:
Ryan Glenn
It’s with great pleasure that Sarah gets to return to Arizona to produce the short documentary Forest of Big Fingers, reuniting her love of short non-fiction work with her nostalgic passion for the Southwest. Forest of Big Fingers is a documentary about the keystone species, friendly neighbor, and cultural icon; the Saguaro cactus.
How did this one variety of cactus, native to only the Sonoran Desert, become the synonymous symbol of the American West? By weaving together a tapestry of stories from artists, scientists, park rangers, Sonoran Desert locals and indigenous tribe members we dive deep into why this statuesque desert beauty is more than just a postcard staple.
